OSHA often investigates workplace accidents in California

Some California jobs are more dangerous than others. Obviously, being a professional stunt person might rank somewhat high on a list for jobs that contain an inherent risk. However, all job sites are to be kept as safe as possible for employees and all rules and regulations followed regarding proper training and procedures that are meant to help prevent workplace accidents.

A man hired to perform stunts on a movie set was recently injured during filming. The scene in which the man was performing took place at a local airport. At some point, the man become trapped underneath a vehicle.

Fire officials who responded to the accident say the stunt man suffered very serious injuries. He was transported by air flight to a medical facility for urgent care. The television drama being filmed when the man was injured was supposed to contain a scene with cars driving around an airport and a gun fight.

Workplace accidents often have long-lasting negative effects when injured workers endure long recovery times. This is part of the reason employers are obligated to purchase insurance that provides benefits to injured employees to help pay medical bills and replace lost wages. Anyone in California facing such circumstances who wishes to seek legal counsel may do so by contacting a workers' compensation lawyer in the area. Such situations can be complicated and it is crucial for injured workers to seek clarification of the process required when filing a claim for benefits due to a job site accident.
