Construction accidents like this one often end tragically

The construction industry is similar to farming in that it sometimes involves situations that pose significant safety risks to workers. Construction accidents occur often in California and throughout the nation. Many of them,  such as a recent one in another state, result in fatalities or serious injuries.

The recent incident occurred when workers were building a sound wall. They were standing in a back alley when one of them, a 19-year-old man, was involved in a terrible accident. He was apparently standing near a truck when a huge piece of concrete suddenly fell from the vehicle and landed on him.

Sadly, he did not survive the accident. His mother expressed her deep sorrow, saying her son had truly been a cause of joy and light in her life. She also wanted his fellow workers who saw him die to know that she is holding them in her thoughts and prayers.

When construction accidents like this one occur in California, those grieving the loss of a loved one are often met with tremendous challenges when it comes to the workers' compensation process, insurance issues, medical bills, funeral expenses and other related matters. One way to help alleviate stress when trying to make sense of it all is to contact a workers' comp attorney for guidance. There are many things an attorney can do to help an immediate family member navigate the system to pursue claims for death benefits, including funeral and burial expenses along with financial relief for the victim's covered dependants.
