Allan S. Ghitterman, Esq.

Alan Ghitterman

Allan has been practicing worker's compensation law in the Tri-Counties since 1959. He has been a certified specialist in worker's compensation since 1973. Helping people recover worker's compensation benefits has been one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.

For more than 57 years, he has been working towards improving the working person's life, and the sense of accomplishment in helping people who need assistance has been immeasurable. In his time, he has seen good things and bad about the worker's compensation system, but through it all was his hope that each injured worker would be treated with dignity and respect. He practices that philosophy each and every day.

Russell R. Ghitterman, Esq.

Russell Ghitterman

Russell is a certified worker’s compensation specialist and an AV rated attorney, the highest rating recognized by the peer review publication, Martindale-Hubbell. For the last several years, he has been identified as a leader in the worker’s compensation field by several peer review publications such as Super Lawyers and Top Attorneys of Southern California. He is a member of the United States Supreme Court and has appeared numerous times before the California Courts of Appeal and has argued twice before the California Supreme Court.

In addition to representing injured workers before the Worker’s Compensation Appeals Board for the last 20 years, Russell has handled personal injury and County Disability retirement claims. He is privileged to be working with his father. They laugh, argue, and eat lunch together. His father is his mentor and hero. Russell hopes to continue practicing law with his father for many years to come. Along with his long-time spouse, Julie Harris, they are the proud parents of his two sons, Benjamin and Avi

Benjamin P. Feld, Esq.

Ben Field

Benjamin P. Feld is a law partner with the firm Ghitterman, Ghitterman & Feld. Mr. Feld has been representing injured workers since 2002, providing his expertise in the areas of Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability and third party litigation services. His work has led not only to successful outcomes for his clients, but also citable appellate precedent. Mr. Feld also manages the firm's Human Resources and IT responsibilities, recently taking his firm "green" by transitioning from an antiquated paper oriented system to the cutting edge of paperless legal administration.

A graduate of the Santa Barbara College of Law, Mr. Feld has remained an active alumni with the campus. Mr. Feld is also a member of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association, the educational and policy group for workers' compensation attorneys representing the disabled. In addition, Mr. Feld has an extensive business background. Before practicing law, Mr. Feld was a local business owner and employer for 10 years dealing hands on with many of the issues facing both employers and employees in the workplace.

Personally, Mr. Feld is kept very busy with his family, which includes his wife Rhonda Henderson and their five children. When not involved in school and extracurricular activities, Mr. Feld enjoys running on our local beaches, paths and races, traveling and enjoying relaxing moments with his extensive family.

Megan E. Compton, Esq.

Megan Compton

Megan E. Compton has been with GG&F since 2006. A graduate of the Santa Barbara College of Law, she started in an administrative position with the firm while simultaneously attending law school and now provides legal services and advice to clients.

Ms. Compton also holds a B.S. in Horticultural Science from Cal Poly and worked in the horticulture industry prior to her legal pursuits. This additional experience allows her to use working knowledge of both the agriculture and construction industries to gain a broader understanding of the facts of a case and her clients' experience. Ms. Compton is fluent in Spanish, allowing her to directly communicate with a diverse client base. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Ms. Compton is pleased to have been fortunate enough to plant professional roots here as well. Both the firm culture at GG&F and the clients she represents are a perfect fit for Ms. Compton.

Ms. Compton's personal interests revolve around all things outdoors.

Crystal C. Forsher, Esq.

Crystal Forsher

Crystal C. Forsher attended Loyola Marymount University majoring in Business Law and minoring in Spanish. Upon graduating LMU, Crystal started her legal career as a case worker at an employment law firm in Los Angeles for 4 years that specialized in workers’ compensation cases before deciding to move back home to Santa Barbara County. Here she attended law school at the Santa Barbara College of Law, graduating in 2012. She remains an active alumni serving on their Bar Panel. Crystal is also an active member of the Santa Barbara Barristers, the American Bar Association, Santa Barbara Women Lawyers, California Women Lawyers, and the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, and enjoys her extra time volunteering for the Santa Barbara County Public Defender’s office. On the weekends she enjoys spending time wine tasting in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley she calls home with her fiancée and their puppy Theodore. Crystal joined Ghitterman, Ghitterman & Feld as an attorney in 2014 returning to her workers’ compensation roots where she enjoys helping employees in need of representation.

Amando Di Filippo

Amando DiFilippo

Armando Di Filippo has been with GG&F since 2002. A native of Chile, he is pleased to use his bilingual skills in order to reach a wide range of clients.

Ashlyn C. Algra

Ashlyn C. Algra is a graduate from the Santa Barbara College of Law (2015) with a BA in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2010). Born in Bakersfield, California, and raised in Santa Barbara, Ms. Algra has strong roots in both communities.

Ms. Algra’s endeavors overseas provided her with a profound appreciation of different cultures and languages as well as a unique perspective from spending time as an intern in American diplomacy. She has served her country by completing internships with the U.S. State Department Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Economic Section at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy (2009), U.S. State Department Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy as the primary candidate (2011), and U.S. Congressman Kevin McCarthy at California’s 23rd Congressional District Office (2013). In addition, she attended the Italian public school Universita’ di Bologna (2010) gaining fluency in Italian.

During law school Ms. Algra worked as a legal assistant in criminal, corporate, and immigration law. She and her father, illustrator Bruce Algra, developed labor law workplace notice posters for her family’s business headquartered in Bakersfield.

Ms. Algra seeks to spend as much time in nature as possible and looks forward to returning to America’s National Parks, places such as the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and can’t wait to plan her next adventure.


FIRM ADMINISTRATOR

Sophia E. Lozada

Sophia Lozada

Sophia joined Ghitterman, Ghitterman & Feld in 2012. She worked as a caseworker before stepping into her current role as Firm Administrator. Her primary responsibilities include office management, human resources, training new and existing employees, and meeting with prospective clients.

Before joining the firm, Sophia received her B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College. Her studies included a six month sojourn in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she studied social movements and human rights. As Firm Administrator she aims to leverage her ability to communicate across cultures and examine issues from multiple standpoints to provide a positive contribution to the firm.

Her favorite hobbies include running on the beach, hiking in the Santa Barbara foothills, and traveling anywhere, everywhere, anytime.
